Aquascalientes

In 1848, the 20th annual community festival, or "feria," of Aguascalientes was moved to the "Jardin de San Marcos." During this period, local artists were encouraged to create dances that reflected the joy of the "feria" (festival), and the daily life and customs of the people of Aguascalientes. "Las Bordadoras" refers to, and is a tribute to, the women who create the beautiful embroidery so characteristic ofDance from Aguascalientes Aguascalientes; Ferrocarrileros refers to, and was created in honor of the railroad workers who lay the foundation that connects Mexico City with the northern Mexican states. The magic inspired by the "sones" (dances) "¡Viva Aguascalientes!" (Long Live Aguascalientes!) and "La Pelea de Gallos" (The Cockfight) are unparalleled in the way they touch the hearts of the people.
