Greetings once again WDCUers, friends and lurkers!

The WDCU hosted Cherry Blossom Rally is now over and we continue to look forward. The Rally was a great success and special appreciation is extended to Harley Muse and Ruth Baldwin for their efforts in making it so. Also we are all anxiously awaiting the photographs of WDCUer Kara Rice who took time out of a photo shoot in Arizona to fly out to the Rally and shoot pictures of the Rally attendees and their trailers in front of the Washington monument and the Capitol. A full wrap-up of the Rally is now on our Unit web site in the Unit Activities link.

So the questions of when are our next get togethers are already being bantered about. Our next official function is participation in the Region 2 Rally for May 25th to 29th, 2000 at the Kutztown Fairgrounds in Kutztown, PA. This Rally will also feature special VAC parking and an Open House. Don Perry (203/869-1180, don-dee@airstream.net) is the VAC POC and will direct the parking. The WDCU will coordinate a Saturday VAC open house. The preregistrations need to be sent in by May 15th and are now available via a link at our web site. If you are planning on attending then please let me know so we can plan a Unit get together at the Rally.

After the Region 2 Rally later this month comes the 2000 WBCCI International Rally in Bismarck, ND during June 25th to July 4th. There has been much written about this in the Blue Beret and those interested in planned vintage activities can find them on the VAC site. Hopefully many WDCUers are planning on attending. If you are then please contact me so that we can try and coordinate a WDCU get together. Wayne Moore has volunteered to make our Unit bulletin board while Garnett Horner will be making a sign for a Region 2 skit presentation.

Our next Unit Rally will be a Joint Rally with the Pennsylvania Unit for Aug. 4th to 6th, 2000, at the Penn Wood Airstream Park in Limestone, PA. Tom Howarth is the WDCU POC although incoming PA Unit President (and WDCU affiliate) JR Freeman is coordinating the Rally. He tells me that he is already lining up entertainment so we need a good turn-out to represent WDCU. For those of you that have not been to Penn Woods, it is a beautiful Airstream only campground that is owned and maintained by the Pennsylvania Unit.

Next fall our Unit Installation Rally will be in conjunction with the Newport News Folklife Festival during October 6th to 9th at the Newport News Community Park in Newport News, VA. Garnett Horner is the POC and has already reserved a section at the campground for our use.

Our final Rally for 2000 is a Joint Rally with Vintage IntraClub Northeast Gathering for November 2nd to the 5th, 2000. Our plans are to host this Rally in West Virginia at the KOA @ Harper's Ferry. John Gilliland and Harley Muse are the POCs.

As shown, the WDCU is actively 'streaming so hopefully those of you who have missed us so far will soon be able to join in.
