Welcome 'Streamers One and All
--
The following is the proposed
Schedule of Events
for this coming weekend's activities in Harper's Ferry. This
gathering is
very informal because of the number of attendees and because of the
large
variety of activities available for everyone to participate in over the
course
of the weekend. Your day's activities will largely depend on your
own
interests.
As with past gatherings, attendees
are
encouraged to interact with all others, visit with all other attendees
and get
to know each other, to form new friendships and to rekindle old ones
formed in
the past. Open house visitation is also encouraged.
Locally available activities (and
this is by no
means a complete listing) include:
- Harper's Ferry National
Historical Park -
just outside the campground entrance and to the right. This is
a
national fee area and has an entrance fee. There is a bus that
will
take visitors on a guided tour of the Harper's Ferry historic
area.
This can also be done by private car on your own or by walking to
the town
at the bottom of the hill.
- Antietam National Battlefield
Park - just
across the Maryland border. An interesting area full of local
Civil
War history (as is the entire area)
- Historic Shepherdstown, West
Virginia - home
of Shepherd's College and a quaint little town to visit with lots of
antique
shops and local lore
- The Charles Town Races and casino
in Charles
Town, West Virginia (about 15 miles or less)
- Antique shops in Harper's
Ferry
- The local flea
market
Restaurants of note in the area
(also not a
complete list by any means):
- The Bavarian Inn (German
cuisine),
Shepherdstown, West Virginia
- The Yellow Brick Bank (American
cuisine),
Shepherdstown, West Virginia
- Hilltop Hotel, Harper's
Ferry
- Cliffside Inn
- Numerous small restaurants in
both
Shepherdstown and Harper's Ferry
There is enough in the local area to
keep one
busy for awhile, so take your pick and enjoy as much as you
can.
Of course, there will be about 33
trailers here
this year and the tradition of "open house" is usually
something we
all look forward to. Saturday afternoon before our pot luck is the
best
suggested time.

go.
There is a nominal charge per person for that service.
We're looking forward to seeing each and every one
of you
there and wish you safe travels on your journey.
