- CMAA has been awarded a grant from the Office of Refugee Resettlement to provide orientation and strengthen Somali Ethnic Community organizations, through such media as Somali language TV and newspaper. Beginning in July 2001, the project involves three other Somali-serving community agencies. For more description, click on the employment opportunities page of this website.
- A further partnership has been established with Children’s Hospital and the Ohio Hispanic Coalition to promote health outreach services to the Hispanic and Somali Communities, through a proposal to the federal Office of Minority Health. This proposal is currently under review.
- To better address the need for affordable housing in the refugee community, two CMAA staff sought and received scholarships from the Ohio Community Development Corporation Association, and are currently participating in a six month training to build capacity for designing, financing, and implementing projects for low to moderate home buyers and renters.
