There are many ways that a person can help welcome recently-arrived refugees
to our community, and assist them in becoming a productive part of our
society. Below we have listed a few ways in which you can become involved
with this important work.
Volunteer Opportunities
- Volunteer as an English tutor, and work as a class assistant in an
ESL class.
- Become a Volunteer Coordinator: recruit new volunteers for CMAA, and
help them to become involved in ways which will be enriching experiences.
- Help drive refugee clients to appointments, e.g. medical, Social Security
office, court.
- Computer support for the office: Word processing and database creation.
- General office work: answering telephones, photocopying, greeting
people, providing referrals.
- Office cleaning.
Donations for Refugee Families
- Furniture, and other household items for newly arrived refugees.
Donations for CMAA Office
- Computers
- Desks
- Shelves
- Chairs
- Photocopier
Cash donations are also welcomed, and
are tax deductible.
